Bring to a boil over high.
Boil until potatoes are tender, 12 to 15 minutes.
Remove from heat, and add 4 tablespoons of the butter; set aside.

Add warmed half-and-half mixture and cubed Brie to potatoes.
Spoon potatoes into a large serving bowl.
Top with remaining 2 tablespoons butter; garnish with chives and a sprinkle of nutmeg, if desired.
