You want the house warm but what’s the best temperature?
When you head to bed, consider lowering the thermostat a few degrees, too.
The Best Temperature When You Are Away
Heading out for a long weekend or a vacation?
Typically, a thermostat set for 64 degrees or higher is good to ensure your pets are warm enough.
Have a houseplant collection?
Consider your plants as a significant change in temperature can affect them.
Most houseplants prefer a temperature around 60 degrees or a bit higher to grow and stay healthy.
The last thing you want to come home to isfrozen pipes.
Set your thermostat around 50- 55 degrees Fahrenheit while you’re away.
An electromechanical system has a sliding bar or pegs and is easy to use and program.
However, you’ll have to remember to set the thermostat manually.
Check the battery on your thermostat to ensure it’s working properly.
Setting your thermostat lower than 50 degrees puts your pipes at risk of freezing.
It’s best to keep the thermostat at a set temperature.
Instead of turning it off and on, consider reducing the temperature by a few degrees.
