It honestly deserves its own holiday.
Much to their dismay, I have broken this rule many, many times.

My first attempt at making this recipe was for an Easter potluck.

And its easy enough to double if you oughta serve more people.
Its anexcellent pairing for ham, so its a no-brainer on Christmas or Easter.
Not to mention, its a classicThanksgiving side dish, too.
A dash of nutmeg also adds a subtle warmth (like youd find inscalloped potatoes).
Plus, the homemade breadcrumb crisps up beautifully in the oven to make a crunchy topping.
Once youve added your breadcrumb topping, all thats left to do is bake.
And dont forget to garnish with parsley for a little color.
