Jarred sauce or homemade?

Ricotta cheese, bechamel sauce, or both?

Loaded with meat or vegetarian?

No-boil noodles, regular dried noodles, or fresh noodles?

Deep dish or regular-size baking dish?

Topped with an extra layer of sauce or cheese?

Some people like to roll up the noodles instead of laying them flat.

Whatever ingredients you decide to put in your lasagna, there’s a trick to layering it.

Don’t start layering noodles until you have some sauce underneath, whether it’s meat sauce or marinara.

Then repeat the layers.

Top the last layer of your lasagna with sauce and cheese.

you could also alternate layers of sauce and ricotta cheese.

Mostlasagna recipeshave two to three layers.

Wait at least ten minutes so that the layers have a chance to rest and set.
