Use the tines of the fork to gently but firmly scrape the outermost layer of the lemon.

This method will take more time and effort, but it can be done.

Lime or orange zest can be used in place of lemon zest.

Lemon peelrefers to all of the lemons skin, including the pith.

Thus, lemon peel and lemon zest arent the same thing.
