Either way, the denimdu jourveered more towards much more loose-fitting styles as a result.
While not necessarily made from denim, the silhouette seems to have inspired later renditions of skinny jeans.

In fact, hardly any other denim silhouettes at the time were favored or deemed socially cool.
Lengthening the Body
Moreover, wearing skinny jeans with high heels creates a longer silhouette appearance.
This particular phenomena is perhaps why the go-to millennial going-out outfit of jeans and a nice top was invented.
