A therapydoghas come out of retirement to help lift the spirits of storm victims in Florida.

Chasse thought it made sense for Ben to enjoy his life as a dog for a while.

I want to get out there, I want to put the work in.

I want to make a difference, she thought.

Plus, she added, everyone is probably sick and tired of fast food by now.

and he was bouncing off the walls, Chasse toldSouthern Living.

Ben became the icebreaker she needed that opened the door to her helping victims in other ways.

We just went up the road talking to people, letting people pet [Ben], Chasse said.

Ben walked down streets in Vero Beach and let storm victims pet him.

And I asked along the way, Do you need anything?

Can I go get you a meal?

Can I go get you a drink?

Do you, what can I do to help you?

His positive impact on everyone he meets will never go away.
