Spring arrives,flowers bloom, and certain colors became ubiquitous in the holiday’s religious festivities.

Pink Or Rose

At Easter, rosy pink hues are also symbolic.

Pink represents jubilant new beginnings and joyful hope.

It’s reminiscent of the pink found in the sky at the dawn of a new day.

On Laetare Sunday, rose vestments and altar cloths are used.

It signifies love, suffering, and ultimate sacrifice.

In the Greek Orthodox tradition, Easter eggs aredyed red.

Red is associated with Holy Week, the days starting with Palm Sunday and ending on Easter Sunday.

Red is also the color of Pentecost, the 50th and last day of the Easter season.

Gold is often used with white in Easter services and displayed on vestments and church decorations.

These periods focus on other events in the life of Christ.

Yellow can sometimes stand in for gold, especially as it relates to spring’s rebirth.

Purple is used to drape crosses during Lent, from Ash Wednesday to Maundy Thursday.

Black is used for Good Friday and the Crucifixion, while a white drape celebrates Easter and the Resurrection.
