Like other types, cascade hydrangeas also attract butterflies, bees and hummingbirds.
Its known as Fairytrail Bride here in the U.S. and became available in 2024, says LeCompte.
Like most hydrangeas, its not fussy if given the right growing conditions.

Soil
Cascade hydrangeas need well-draining soil thats slightly acidic.
If you have heavy clay, consider planting in containers instead.
Water
Water the root ball itselfnot the foliagedeeply.

The soil should remain moist around the plant, not soaking wet.
Poke your finger into the soil; if its moist, wait and see what happens.
The plant should perk up again by the next morning.

If its bone-dry when you test, its fine to water, says LeCompte.
Pruning
Deadheading is not necessary.
Dont plant too deep, which is a common mistake.

Slide the plant out of the pot, place it in the hole.
The shrub needs to learn to grow in its native soil, says LeCompte.
Backfill the soil, and tamp down to eliminate air pockets, then water well.

Check the moisture level of the root ball itself by poking your finger in when watering.
Water deeply and infrequently.
Common Pests and Problems
Cascade hydrangeas are not particularly susceptible to pests or diseases.

The biggest challenge is that, like all hydrangeas, they are not deer-resistant, says LeCompte.
Consider planting other moredeer-resistant plantsif you have a big deer population that visits your yard regularly.
