We preferred sets that included batteries, as this adds value and cuts down on set-up time.
And we found that candles with dusk-to-dawn sensors and adjustable lighting options made for a better user experience.
The set of eight candles includes 16 AA batteries, which were already in the candles upon arrival.

The candles have both four- and eight-hour timer options, both of which worked as expected during testing.
We only wished the candles came with a dusk-to-dawn sensor for even more convenience.
In fact, Colonial Williamsburg still honors this tradition by displaying candles in its historic buildings each year.

Theres also no remote control, although the dusk-to-dawn sensor makes one superfluous.
The candles also have a flicker effect, which gave them an even more genuine appearance from the street.
Just keep in mind you cant adjust the brightness or color configs on these candles.

The set also features a remote control.
Just note that there is no flicker effect, and the brightness is not adjustable.
They are also by far the smallest on our list at just 4 inches high.

Plus, the fact that the set includes batteries and a remote control makes it a great value.
We then brought the candle sets home and used them over a two-week period.
Each candle was evaluated for its ease of setup, design, brightness, features, and value.

In testing, we preferred candles that included batteries, especially if they came with a higher price point.
it’s possible for you to also find window candles that plug into an electrical outlet.
However, not all sensors are created equal, and some can be a little unreliable.

Aesthetics
Of course, aesthetics are always going to be a factor when it comes toholiday decor.
