The first and most important thing to buy is a membership.

Stepping foot into a Costco warehouse can be equal parts exhilarating and overwhelming.

Especially for items you would already normally buy.

Rotisserie Chicken

No trip to Costco is complete without smelling the fresh aroma of rotisserie chickens.

“You cant beat it for $4.99,” the Costco employee says.

“Its always fresh and so versatile and an extremely economical meal for a family.

If you wanted, you could even boil or roast the bones for broth.”

“Its seasonal, so it isnt usually available in the summer,” the Costco employee tellsSouthern Living.

“But it can easily be repackaged into smaller containers and frozen for later use.

I like to have them on hand for when people arent feeling well.”

“This is almost always a third cheaper than a standard grocer,” the employee says.

A product of New Zealand, the butter comes in four 8-ounce packages to a box.

Its very comparable (in taste) to other more popular grass-fed butter, the employee tellsSouthern Living.

“Its an easy way to add protein to your daily intake without a chalky aftertaste.”

“Its one of the best deals at $3.99 for 40 bottles,” the employee shares.
