Make the 5-Cup Cream Cheese Frosting:
Beat 2 (8-oz.)
packages softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup softened butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy.
Gradually add 2 (16-oz.)

Stir in 2 tsp.
Place 1 layer, cut side up, on a cake plate or serving platter.

Top with another cake layer; spread with about 3/4 cup Cream Cheese Frosting.
Place another cake layer on top of frosting; spread with remaining compote.
