What was once a bare-bones landscape is now an inviting gathering place.

I dont think much had changed since its origination.

It was pretty lackluster for me.

That changed everythingincluding Carmeons plans for their yard.

This home now means something very different to me.

I said, Im not going to be outside pruning bushes and watering with the hose.

What can we do?

They are beautiful because of their simplicity.

I wanted him to have access to water, no matter if we could leave home or not.

The familys reimagined backyard has become that and more.

Its been the place for so many moments of joy and gathering.

I wanted to confirm everyone had a place where they could land and be comfortable, says the designer.

It gives you a reason to be outside and enjoy that additional square footage that youve created there.

Accessories help, she notes.

Hanging a mirror or a piece of art is a great way to elevate an outdoor spot.
