Salmagundi is a unique dish, in that it’s more of an idea than an exact recipe.

Ingredients for Salmagundi

When we say everything but the kitchen sink, we mean it.

While it might look impressive, assembling the components is easy as can be.

It would be just as welcome at a picnic as at your next dinner party.

Store leftovers well-wrapped or in an airtight container for up to three or four days.

Slowly add half-and-half, and whisk until blended.

Once cool, transfer dressing to a serving bowl, and cover surface directly with plastic wrap.

Chill in refrigerator about 30 minutes.

(Dressing will continue to thicken as it chills.)

Prepare grill:

Preheat grill to medium-high (400F to 450F).

Thread shrimp onto skewers.

Serve with chilled dressing and lemon wedges.
