President Jimmy Carter, 99, is mourning the passing of hisbeloved wifeof 77 years, Rosalynn.
The former president reflected on her immeasurable impact on his life in astatementshared by The Carter Center Sunday.

Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished, Carter said.
She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it.
As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.

She died peacefully, with family by her side, according to The Carter Center.
Her life of service and compassion was an example for all Americans.
Rosalynn wasdiagnosed with dementiaearlier this year.
Jimmy, who celebrated his 99th birthday last month, has been inhospice caresince February.
“They are together.
They are at home.
I mean, it’s a perfect situation for this time in their lives.
A funeral service for Rosalynn is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29.
Our hearts are with the Carter family during this difficult time.
