To make them ahead, halve and fill the jalapenos as directed.

Transfer to a plate and wrap tightly, or place into an airtight container and seal.
Refrigerate for up to two days, and bake as directed before serving.

Transfer to a freezer-safe zip-top bag or container, and freeze for up to three months.
Avoid reheating in the microwave, which could make them soggy.
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Prepare jalapenos:
Wearing gloves, slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise.
Remove the membrane and the seeds; discard.
In a separate bowl, combine panko and melted butter.

Stuff peppers:
Fill jalapeno halves with cream cheese mixture, and top with panko mixture.
Bake peppers:
Place stuffed jalapeno halves on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 20 to 22 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
