Plus, he shares a tip on how to root boxwood cuttings.
Question of the Week: Some sort of blight is ruining my potted dwarf Alberta spruces.
The natals turn yellow and then brown.

What’s going on?
People typically will put one in a pot on each side of their front door.
And spider mites love Alberta spruces, unfortunately.
And they’re very hard to see.
Spider mites can be a number of different colors.
they can be brown, or they can be red.
And they’re also very tiny.
They’re about the size of a period at the end of a sentence.
And in hot, dry weather, they multiple like crazy.
Do that about once a week, and see if your Alberta spruces don’t look better.
And that will kill spider mites.
You might have to do that several times during the summer.
You’ll be glad to know theboxwood cuttingsare about the easiest cuttings to root.
A good time to do this is around June, in early summer.
It’s no longer really soft and succulent; its a little firmed up.
Keep the soil moist, but it has to have good drainage, and put that plant in shade.
And it will root very easily.
