This project came with life…with actual life.
Its also a story about sisters and the complex relationships between mothers and daughters.

Basically, I did the audition while my wife was giving birth.
Thats why this project is distant from anything Ive been doing because it came with life.
With actual life, he said as a huge smile spread across his face.

The callback for the part of Sergio was on Wednesday, the day before at 3:00p.m.
At 12:30, three hours before, ah Baby Evan, ah Papa have a callback?
Lets see the light, now.
He explained with a laugh.
His wifes water broke and off they went to the hospital.
Rivera called his agent and told him that he was sorry, but he couldnt make it.
His wife was in labor.
Much to his surprise, the creative team behindThe Chicken Sisterssaid, sure, why not?
They gathered showrunner Annie Mebane and the other cast members set to read with Rivera on a video call.
I talked to my wife.
You know, its work!.
And she told me yeah of course.
So in the next room with my wife…
I did my audition.
And my mind was over there hoping that everything is fine.
It was something surreal.
I dont know how I did it actually.
I didnt forget any lines, I just did the work.
Evan Dario was born seven hours later.
Both Mom and baby were healthy and the following day, Rivera was told he got the part.
This situation as an actor, we need work.
Weve got to work because its unpredictable after the strike, so I have to definitely do it.
My family is happy and my baby is healthy and happy.
So this project is really special because of that.
The Chicken Sisters premieres on Hallmark + on September 10.
