“This book really hits home for me because it’s really about Southern people,” Parton explains.

“If you have not read Lee Smith you better get after it,” she adds.
As for the book she’s read more than any other,that award goes to the Bible.
“There’s a lot of wisdom in here.
I find a lot of strength and a lot of hope in reading the Bible.
“I’m going to always pick a paperback book,” Parton says when pressed about e-readers.
“I just love the feel of books, the smell of books.
I love, physically, the touch of books.”
