Rather, it was pure weariness and nagging potential that won her over.
We spent about a year looking at homes, says the decorator.

None of them felt right.
I remember saying, Lets just buy it, and I can do something with it, she remembers.
They then highlighted its existing charms, like the original plaster walls and crown molding.

I love the holidays, says Studebaker.
She doubled down on its timeless style with pine-and-cedar garlands punctuated with red-and-green ribbon.
But the lush park, visible through tall windows that flood the space with natural light, delivered inspiration.

It really spoke to the outdoors.
Their rounded lattice backs feel a bit like a trellis, she says.
You live with it one way all year long, she explains.

Why not make it feel festive and happy and different?
and Do the scale and proportion work?
I dont care if its a formal area or not; I love rattan, she notes.

Which, of course, she does, positioned just out of the frame.
A wreath hung with pink ribbon lends a little extra sweetness.
