It can be served warm and with ice cream if desired.

Store chocolate dump cake, covered in baking dish, at room temperature for up to three days.

Just give it a quick re-whip before serving.

chocolate fudge cake mix(such as Betty Crocker)

1(3.9-oz.)pkg.

chocolate instant pudding and pie filling(such as Jell-O)

2cupswhole milk

1/2cup(4 oz.

)unsalted butter

1Tbsp.vanilla extract

1(12-oz.

Lightly coat a 13-x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Dump cake mix and instant pudding in even layer in prepared baking dish; set aside.

Stir in vanilla, if using.

Drizzle butter mixture evenly over dry ingredients.

Mix batter:

Gently mix to break down any large clumps or dry spots.

Add chocolate chips:

Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top of cake batter.

Let cool completely in pan on wire rack, about 1 1/2 hours.

Serve:

Slice and serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
