Grease and flour a 9- x 5-in.

(6 cup) loaf pan.
Add the flour and stir with a spatula until just combined (be careful not to overmix).
Fold in the chocolate chips, if using.

Add batter to loaf pan:
Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Sprinkle with the pepitas (if using) and the remaining 1 tbsp.
