What Is Cottage Cheese?
Cottage cheese is a cheese that consists of curds and cream.

The curd is cut into smaller curds and then mixed with cream, resulting in cottage cheese.
Unlike low-fat and fat-free cottage cheese, the full-fat version is creamier because of its higher fat content.
In this case, it’s best to toss any leftovers you won’t use.

Cottage cheese that’s never been opened will last three to six months in the freezer.

For example, Tiess suggests using thawed cottage cheese in dishes with blended elements.
