The enthusiasm is apparent from Ayres first frame on screen.
His take on Dan is like if Buddy the Elf had more business sense.
The veteran actor said a note from director Lucie Guest helped guide his character development.
It changed everything for me.
I played everything like Im having the best time even when its not.
So we all got on a ferry and went north.
It was kind of like a field trip for a week.
The heart comes from the storyline for Santa, or Nick.
Trevor Learner did such a beautiful job of playing that Santa…
Were rooting for him so much and to see the magic slowly come back into him.
I cried like 3 times just in his scenes because hes so beautiful to watch.
And so innocent, Ayres said.

I think thats what I love so much about this movie.
Its a real magic season when youre young.
And I think we love these movies so much because they transport us back to our childhood.
And to transport us back to our childhood through Santa is a whole other level.
And thats what really resonated in this movie for me.
The beauty of magic and Santa.
