Terry and Candace Stevens of Mobile, Alabama are going from bounty to record-breaker.

Down in Mobile, Alabama, one enormous okra plant is making headlines.

And theyve just been growing ever since, Terry shared.

One of their okra plants shot up like a weed.

(Sweeney said it was fitting, given our citys unparalleled fondness for okra.)

The record was verified on March 23, 2022.

New Orleans may not hold the title for long, however.

At that point, the plant was a whopping 16 feet 10 inches.

And it just kept growing.

“It measures 17 feet 5 inches as of now,” Candace shared withSouthern Living.

“We plan to have the surveyor come back out soon!”

The couple submitted an tool to Guinness World Records to be considered for the title.
