Blue ghost fireflies emit a blue-green light compared to the more common white or yellow flashes from other species.

One of the best ways to see blue ghosts is by attending a guided tour in May or June.

They may also be spotted in Cataloochee Valley on the North Carolina side ofGreat Smoky Mountains National Park.
