Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high.
Drain sausage on a paper towel-lined plate, and let cool 10 minutes.

Unroll crescent roll dough sheet onto a lightly floured surface.
Roll dough into a 15- x 8-inch rectangle, with the long edge parallel to edge of surface.
Evenly sprinkle cooked sausage over cream cheese mixture.

Scatter Cheddar cheese evenly over top.
Using clean hands, gently press down all over to adhere fillings to dough.
Using a pastry brush or your finger, lightly moisten top border of dough with water.

Starting from bottom edge, tightly roll dough up, jelly roll style.
Pull and pinch seam to seal.
Using a sharp serrated knife, trim and discard uneven edges of dough.

Place rounds 1-inch apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven until golden brown and cooked through, 15 to 20 minutes.
