All is not lost, as the printed date on the packaging isn’t the definite expiration date.
In fact, most store-bought eggs kept in the refrigerator remain fresh for weeks beyond the stamped date.
Plus, contrary to popular belief, the nose can’t always determine an egg’s freshness either.

If it lays flat:Simply fill a glass or bowl with cold water and submerge the egg.
If it sinks to the bottom and lays flat on its side, it is still fresh.
An egg that floats to the top is not fresh and could be spoiled.
The older the egg, the more air penetrates its shell, causing it to float.
Rotten eggs also release gases that can make them buoyant.
If you don’t hear swishing:No sound = good news: your egg is fresh.
A rotten egg smell is an indisputable sign that your egg isn’t safe to eat.
A bright red blood spot is perfectly safe, however, and common.
Also, be sure to keep your eggs fresher longer by storing them in the fridge.
