Of course, Mom always knows best!
(Unless your lease specifically forbids it, in which case I would not be signing it.)

For a calmer and more welcoming space, softer and warmer lighting is the key.
Unfortunately, most rental properties (at least those Ive lived in) dont have dimmers for overhead lighting.
