Replace damaged screens and double-check any overflow or connection points are covered as well.

Empty them every time you notice standing water.

Septic Tanks

Septic tanks provide ideal conditions for mosquitoes to breed.

see to it covers aren’t cracked or damaged so that mosquitoes can’t get in.

Tire Swings

Tire swings are great at collecting rainwater and should be emptied after every rain.

If you happen to have tires lying around the yard, empty those, too.

Otherwise you may also end up with pet mosquitoes that nobody wants around.

Bird bathsshould be emptied, scrubbed, and refilled once a week at a minimum.

Tree Hollows

Tree hollows can collect rainwater and provide the perfect place for mosquitoes to breed.

Buckets And Trash Cans

see to it that buckets and trash cans are covered at all times.

The lids can also collect water and should be emptied after it rains.

Check these frequently and give them a good shake if they’re wet.
